Independent women

Is poverty among the elderly primarily a female problem? Our life expectancy is constantly increasing. A girl that is born today could possibly reach the age of 90 years. But can we still afford to reach such an old age? What does this mean for us? „Getting older“ should still be affordable. However, women’s provisions for their old age – if they do have a provision plan – are very often lower than those of men. In this case, a rude awakening is unavoidable. Many of the women affected do not know how much or rather how little they will have at their disposal at their old age. The public old-age pension system (AHV) alone does not provide for a relaxed retirement!  Money is not everything? But still, money allows us to live our passions and to afford: holidays, wellness, shoes, clothes, beauty, sport, etc. We admit it: many women have a peculiar relationship with money and often do not like dealing with financial issues as it makes them feel uneasy. But for what reason? Maybe  it could have to do with the fact that many women have seen their fathers taking responsibility for financial questions and that later on their partner handles the financial issues? Nevertheless – or maybe precisely because of that – more and more women strive for financial independence. There are good reasons behind it: women prove that they can/could manage their budget very well, and not only in daily life. Women are more considerate when spending money and try not to live over their possibilities. Start early with your retirement provision planning and consider all your possibilities. This will allow you to gain confidence and independence. Solutions by women for women

The way we see it

Men have higher salaries – why in fact? This difference is most evident when looking at the wage differentials at the level of executive positions; but also elsewhere. Already at employment, women are treated differently than men – and this remains like this throughout their working life. Furthermore, women often interrupt their professional career for family reasons. This costs money – also at later stages of life. Let’s face it: Being mother and pursuing a successful career are almost impossible or at least very difficult to reconcile. Regardless of what the press and latest research results are claiming: we know better! Expecting a baby? The child comes first, the career is put on ice for the next years and our executive position for which we struggled hard and with a lot of passion is downgraded to a part-time job. Do you see the problem? Women that have been working for many years and that want to have family (maternal leave) do not perceive any income or only reduced salaries during this period and thus, they feel financially dependant on their partner.

less income = less social insurance contributions = less security

  • The average life expectancy of a woman is around 82,5 years
  • Every second married couple divorces
  • Around 2/3 of all couples often argue about money
  • Women still earn less than men for doing the same job

In our society, money represents the road to independence, free from all worries and existential fears. We want to help women to gain financial independence and provide them with help and advice. You should also be able to benefit from our wide range of experiences and creative solutions. We therefore invite every woman to directly get in touch with us with any question, doubt, advice and suggestion they might have. HOW WOMEN GO BANKRUPT by Naomi Wolf.  By refusing to deal with money matters, middle-class women face an increased risk of poverty.

Are men better off?

In the meantime, we perfectly know that in many respects women think differently than men and this should stay that way: After all, we want to be «woman» and not «man»! However, with regards to money and finances, as well as to financial independence, men are clearly a step ahead of us! Why in fact? Today, financial emancipation is important and necessary for all women. For this reason, we as women need to learn to be independent from a financial point of view; from the very start and at every stage of life. Be it in a partnership, marriage or family, women should always have an insurance coverage as if they were single in order to secure minimum standards of existence and liberty.Life is often full of surprises. Start assuming the responsibility for your financial independence from today; a man is no retirement provision! Live a life of equality. Even here.  Should women think differently than men when planning their retirement provision? Where and how are financial security and/or individual insurance coverage of women taken into account and met? Can women make provisions for their old age, without having to waive their insurance coverage and savings when for example taking a maternity leave? How can a woman optimize taxes, save money or prevent financial loss throughout her professional career if she is planning to have family one day? At last, you will get an answer to your questions, individual requests and wishes from „woman to woman“! In the more and more confusing jungle of products and procedures we as women committ ourselves wholeheartedly to this task! Invest in your future and allow yourself a well-deserved retirement at the age of 64.

About Us

UNITED WE STAND (since 2006)
Being in touch with businesswomen, employees and other women dealing with their retirement provision, we realized that women prefer receiving advice by other women and/or talking about these issues with women, or in other words, from women to women. Therefore, we decided to put the idea of Enza Cipolla into practice and in autumn 2007 „frauenvorsorge“ was born. Many women consider provision for one’s old age as a mystery. The fact that almost exclusively men provide advice in this sector does not really help to bring about change. Our women-oriented consulting aims at recognizing and broadening the knowledge and possibilities of a woman in her particular life context. We are on our client’s side and support them in recognizing and implementing their needs and objectives, as well as their desire for independence.

ENZA CIPOLLA (* 1971)
Many different professional experiences and life itself are at the basis of my current activity. My diploma of Commerce HSI, my professional education as commercial employee with federal diploma in the banking sector, as well as the Higher Commercial Diploma have laid the foundation to my professional career. Various executive positions in a wide range of sectors have prepared me for my current position, especially since the business world and interactions between employers and employees are full of surprises and constitute a continuous challenge. In April 2003, I wanted to meet a new challenge and started working in the insurance sector. Shortly afterwards, I discovered that this sector is a male domain. Both, on the adviser side as well as on the customer side, I mostly just met men, and thus started asking myself: „But where are the women?“.
I gave this question more and more thoughts and finally the idea of „frauenvorsorge“ took shape.

DANIELA  CIPOLLA (* 1976)
After having successfully completed the School for hotel secretaries, I furthermore completed the professional education as commercial employee with federal diploma. Until now, my career has been very varied and extensive: Following several years of working experience in the hotel sector and more than 10 years of successful work in executive positions in male dominated sectors, in April 2006, I finally I decided to provide active support to my sister Enza in the insurance sector.

MIRELLA  CIPOLLA (*1975)
I also completed a professional education as commercial employee with federal diploma in the retail business.Later on, I completed the professional training H+ and spent more than 10 years working in the medical sector. In 2007 I decided to prove my organizing ability as well as my flair for figures and started working for a leading Swiss company. In this company, I met my partner and with the birth of our son, my personal and professional life took a new turn. Since 2010, I am very happy to be part of „frauenvorsorge“.
